THE STORY

This is the story of a hotel where each space tells the same story in a different way. The concept for the renovation of Hotel Patrizia is built around reflections and connections. In close response to the clients’ vision, each area was designed to feel private while remaining part of a bigger picture. And, importantly, to feel timeless and elegant.

Whether on the panoramic terrace, in a corner of the new restaurant, the buffet and show-cooking area, or in one of the newly designed guestrooms, the new interior design transformed each space into both a warm embrace and a stage for moments of connection. Intimate yet open, soft yet defined, connected yet private.

Another anchor of the design was to celebrate the vast valley views from every corner.

The project was developed in close collaboration with the hotel’s owners, whose love for detail, together with their long-standing commitment to timeless elegance and refined comfort, guided the design throughout each phase.

STORY

The interior layout is structured by a subtle grid of joints that connects the different seating zones while maintaining privacy and spatial distinction. Rounded corners in furniture, architectural elements and floor transitions create a continuous flow between the different areas. The open space is structured by a grid of wooden frames that intersect and connect furniture, walls and ceilings like pieces of a puzzle — divided and linked with millimetre precision.

THE CONCEPT

A central element of the concept is the use of antique mirrors framed in dark wood and integrated into walls and ceilings. Strategically positioned, they reflect daylight, the lush garden and the Merano valley deep into the restaurant and buffet areas, allowing the landscape to become part of the interior even in its furthest corners. At the same time, the reflections create an ongoing dialogue between furniture, walls, floors, ceilings and the people who bring the spaces to life.

Terrazzo flooring, dark wood, antique mirror, dark Emperador marble and travertine are combined with natural shades of light and dark fabrics to create a cohesive material palette throughout the project.

On the terrace, natural materials and soft seating continue the calm atmosphere of the interior while framing the panoramic landscape.

The result is a refined evolution of the hotel’s identity — a series of spaces that feel contemporary yet deeply rooted in the heritage and hospitality that have made guests return year after year.

THE INTERPRETATION

Loving the challenge of finding the best expression for this idea, we explored how the desired feeling could be translated through both the interior and exterior spaces. The design needed to be clean, yet warm and inviting. Soft and clear-cut at the same time. This story was told through contrasts: light and dark tones, soft and hard materials, and clean lines meeting rounded edges.
